Rockstar 24ozAhhh, just polished off a Rockstar 24oz.-er. Love this stuff. Great taste, huge can, and more economical than Red Bull.

Energy Drink Review: Rockstar Juiced

Monday, April 30th, 2007 by Claude

JuicedRockstar Energy Drink is my favorite of all EDs…so of course I am willing to try a few of their other flavours for the sake of these postings. Juiced says it’s “Energy + Juice”, including mango, passion fruit, and orange juices. While they all may be in there, mango is the one that comes through. Imagine taking 1/2 Mountain Dew, 1/2 Sprite, and 1/2 Snapple Mango Madness. That’s what you have here. Juiced is tasty if you want an orangee delight, but it’s not for my palette.

My Island

Monday, April 30th, 2007 by Fuzz

S.O.S.!!! I’m trapped on an island!

In greek mythology, Prometheus was a Titan who stole fire from Zeus and gave it to the mortals. As punishment, Zeus had him chained to the top of a mountain, where each day Prometheus’s liver was pecked out by an eagle, and each night it would grow back (lather, rinse, repeat).

(This is a long one, but it’s good IMHO. Click on the link below to read more).

When You’re Having One of ‘Those’ Days

I quoted this song over the weekend…. so it will be my quote today. ;)

Mat Kearney

Mat Kearney
If you are looking for some heart-felt acoustica-type music, sometimes with a little spoken word (rap-like Jason Mraz-lite) stuff, to listen to while driving down the highway with your windows down this summer…check out Mat Kearney’s “Nothing Left to Lose”. And if he comes to Summerfest, check him out!

About Fuzz

Friday, April 27th, 2007 by Fuzz

Fuzz Martin MediaAfter I switched to FuzzMartin.com version 4.0 about a year or two ago, I forgot to finish my “about me” page. And, since we are running at or near 700 unique visitors per day, I figured I’d fill in those of you who don’t know me.

So… Check out the FuzzMartin.com’s About page if you care to know anything about, uhm, me. :)

I Like to Call it Imagination

I’ve been on the receiving end of this conversation before:

Dr. Kelso: Are you an idiot?

FMM: Things You Don’t Know About Me

Thursday, April 26th, 2007 by Fuzz

Up until now, I’ve kinda sorta kept my “hobby that pays a little” a secret, but I feel like letting it out of the bag. For those of you who don’t know, I dabble in photography. I love the fashion side of it, though I do a lot of still-life stock. You can check out my stock portfolio (and even buy some if you’d like) by clicking the iStockphoto.com logo to your right (my left. - j/k.) Otherwise, here is a sample of some of my recent work:

UPDATE: The photos were crunching in the main table, so I thumbnail’d ‘em. Click on them to see the full-view:

I Am SO Done With This!

Thursday, April 26th, 2007 by Fuzz

The end of the semester is always the WORST part of the year. I only have two more left after this… but at this point, I just wish I was DONE! Right now I have two more group projects due, AND finals in three more of my classes. If I go insane, please make sure you send your letters to the rubber room they’re going to have to lock me in.

Just two more weeks.

I am passing along this little piece of viral marketing. Why? Because it is brilliant!

Lighten Up

Thursday, April 26th, 2007 by Fuzz

Yeah… enough with the serious quotes… here’s one of my fav’s from Scrubs:

A tip jar. Really? So what am I supposed to do, just duke you my change because you poured hot water through beans? Well, I’ll tell you what, my friend, unless you’re also planning on giving me a complimentary reach-around with my beverage, I’m afraid the answer is yeah…no! Here’s a–here’s a novel idea: Why don’t you go fetch me a very large cup of coffee with so damn many fake sugars in it, that the coffee itself gets cancer.

How ’bout Dem Brewers

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007 by Fuzz

Brewers!!!Hopefully, my posting some praise towards the Brew Crew won’t send them into a tailspin, but I have to say that it is nice to see that they are kicking some ass right now. Prince Fielder is fun to watch, the team seems to play a little more defense now, and they’ve got a swagger. As a perennial Brewers fan, I’d be remiss to say that I am not expecting a sudden nose dive, but for the moment - they are doing great! Get out and see a game before they implode.

Try

The worst thing one can do is not to try, to be aware of what one wants and not give in to it, to spend years in silent hurt wondering if something could have materialized - never knowing.~David Viscott

Energy Drink Review: SoBe No Fear Gold

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007 by Claude

Sobe No Fear GoldI like to expand my horizons and try new things. Often, it comes in the way of general monotany such as new flavors of pop, variety of music (thanks for the country stuff, Fuzz!), and most recently Energy Drinks.

I know Fuzz is a big fan of the Energy Drinks, too. In tribute to the coffee-free (yet caffinated Fuzz), here is my new segment on Energy Drinks, in short ED. ;)

This weekend I stopped at the gas station only to find they didn’t stock my favorite, RockStar. So, I went with something new. SoBe No Fear Gold. Having had the SoBe No Fear (regular), I was a little leary of this concoction. However, much better than it’s grand daddy, SoBe No Fear Gold has a nice taste. The initial smell is rather citrusy, the taste is a cross between a Mountain Dew/Grapefruit flavor, and the finish is easy with little after-taste.

I give SoBe No Fear Gold:
***** 5 out of 10 ED: Stars (edited to change from 7 to 5 stars)

Cure for Colorblindness

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007 by Fuzz

Okay, they don’t really have a cure for colorblindess, at least not that I’m aware of, but for colorblind people who need to use colors on a daily basis… here is an awesome site that I came across thanks to Claude: Kuler

It’s great for non-colorblind people, but for those of us men with an inflicted X-chromosome, it is a godsend.

Year Zero

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007 by Claude

Make sure you run out and buy the new Nine Inch Nails album, Year Zero.  Trent Reznor has come back around, bringing his best juice since The Downward Spiral.  This concept album is sure to be on the pick lists of all the critics and kids for this year.  NIN spent a lot of time and effort on a viral marketing campaign to promote Year Zero, an effort that plays into the nature of the album.

1/2 Square For Me

Sheryl Crow is an unbelievably wasteful person. An entire square? If she really cared about the environment… she’d only use 1/2 square like me. I mean… it has two sides!!!!!!!!

Looking For A Little Help Here…

Monday, April 23rd, 2007 by Squiz

Ok, so I have a niece that turns four in the first week of May and I have absolutely no idea what to get her for her Birthday. Yea, yea, yea… I could do the whole Barbie, Dora, markers or paints thing, but I was hoping some of you baby mamas or baby daddys might have some creative ideas. If you got something, lay it on me.
