What Do You Think?

Owen asks if you think that the West Bend School Referendum will pass? (Not if you are voting for or against it, but whether or not you think it actually will pass or fail).

I think it will pass. But there very well could be an uprising of those who are against the referendum. We shall find out tomorrow, I guess.

    I think it’s going to fail miserably. The “pro” side is very vocal, the “con” side is seething privately. I am confident that it will fail, my guess is around 60/40. I heard someone say they thought it would go down 70/30. I do know that if it does for some reason pass, we will reconsider buying the bigger house we intended to buy here. We can live cheaper elsewhere.

    In the next few months, look for another referendum for around $70-80 million. My guess is that it will come close to passing or will pass.

    Funny you should say that about the $70-80M referendum. When this whole issue first came up, I said on the air, “they’re just doing this to make a cheaper-but-still-expensive referendum pass next year.” But once I started hearing all of the vocal supporters, I thought the $119M might actually have legs.

    Nope, it failed miserably. 63-37% fail.
