Lost Season 4 Finale

Friday, May 30th, 2008 by Claude

*SPOILER*
Sorry if you TiVo-ed it…but it happened last night so it’s fair game to blog about today…

I didn’t think the Frozen Donkey Wheel was as exciting as last years Rattlesnake in the Mailbox
but the Season 4 finale was pretty good…and leaves some good unanswered questions for the final 2 seasons of the show.

Here is a quick video which shows the 3 different endings shot for the finale.

MySpace Intervention

MySpace’s friends let him know that he’s heading in the wrong direction. Not safe for playing at work due to dirty language and people at a party making out with each other. :)

Here are some “old skool” jamz for all of my boys out there. Most of these were around when we were graduating high school (or at least IN high school).

Symphony

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008 by Fuzz

Since I heard the story of Elisabeth Witte, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra player who was slain by her ex-husband, every time I hear the word “symphony,” my heart breaks for her. What a tragic and horrifying story.

Mallards

I took this yesterday while Tracy and I were driving through the Horicon Marsh. I was driving, Tracy had the wheel, and we were driving at speed with the ducks in flight. :)

Lensbaby

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008 by Fuzz

Tracy bought me a Lensbaby for my graduation. A Lensbaby is a lens that you tilt and shift (squeeze) to focus only one part of the photo. I’m still toying around with it, and it takes a lot of getting used to, but it’s pretty fun.
Here’s one, of the junk in the neighbor’s yard, that I just took for giggles.

And here’s a photo of my lamp - the three photos to the left are separated by two inches a piece. It’s pretty cool! :D

…and one more because I’m having fun.

On Notice: Bicyclists

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008 by Claude

My affinity for the Colbert Report is no secret. So, to honor Stephen and his great contributions to the world, I am implementing my own “On Notice” board on FuzzMartin.com (by Claude…not Fuzz).

On Notice: BicyclistsOn Notice: Bicyclists

These innocent, happy-go-lucky travelers are everywhere these days. With the increase in gas prices and the new stylish fashion statement of rolling up your pant leg, it’s no wonder their numbers have multiplied.

I have to give a big tisk-tisk to all bicyclists, as they want vehicles to “share the road” with them…but they will not yield to the more dominant transportation methods. In a natural selection of the roadways, bicyclists should know their place. I will share whatever room is leftover on the road when I come cruising by in my Lincoln Navigator while drinking my iced mocha-latte from McDonalds on my way to work (Starbucks is soooo March 2008).

Bicyclists, you have been put On Notice. Next time you breeze through that 4-way stop, don’t expect an out-of-court settlement when you find yourself looking up at my SUV’s undercarriage.

I took some photos of my stepsister’s prom. Check out the photos here:

If you ever need any photography - email me at the address located at the top right of this page.

If I’m not careful… this will turn into a photography blog… and that’s not what I’m going for, here. :D

LifeLock Spokesman = Dumbass

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008 by Claude

Have you seen this ad on tv?  Where the spokesman for a company promising to save you from identity theft shows his Social Security Number on screen?

Funny thing is, the LifeLock’s service didn’t help the spokesman, who became a victim himself.  Whoops!  Guess you shouldn’t have given out your SS# on national TV.  Nothing like daring someone to steal your identity.  Sorta like daring Kevin Mitnick to hack into something.

Explain Death

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008 by Fuzz

Even very young children need to be informed about dying. Explain the concept of death very carefully to your child. This will make threatening him with it much more effective.

UWM Graduation

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008 by Fuzz

Well, I finally did it. On Sunday afternoon, I finally and officially graduated from UW-Milwaukee. It was a nice day, there were tons and tons of students graduating, and it was all worth it.

Some of the highlights from the event:

    • Getting to skip to the front of the 530+ business students in line, thanks to a friend in the AMA who let about seven of us in.
    • U.S. Congresswoman Gweneth Moore’s gaffe. She read her notes, “committed suicide,” instead of “committed students.” Everybody’s jaw dropped.
    • Some of the text messages sent to me by Tracy and JG that were just about the funniest things that I have read in ages. JG’s cousin, Michael, should be a comedian.
    • The fact that they actually read, “Fuzz Martin,” as I walked.
    • Walking.

I’m just happy to be done. I initially planned on attending UW-Whitewater to get my MBA, but now I think I may just return to UW-Milwaukee. It’s about $10,000 less to do the UWM program on campus than it is to do the UWW program on the internet. Plus, UWM is more widely recognized than UW-Whitewater, so it’s probably in my best interest… I’m just sick of driving. ;)

Thank you, sincerely, to all of you who have put up with me through my BBA program and who have congratulated me on finally graduating! It was a lot of hard work, but it was a great experience and a hell of a lot of fun.

West Bend Schools Earn Newsweek Ranking

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008 by Fuzz

Even though the school district teaches some of its students in trailers, both of West Bend’s high schools were named in Newsweek’s Top High Schools report.

West Bend West is ranked number 1206. West Bend East is ranked 1248 (which is odd since they’re in the same building).

The top school in the area was Rufus King in Milwaukee.

    Nice Problem To Have

Friday, May 16th, 2008 by Fuzz

Tracy’s lawn mower didn’t work. She said that every time she went to engage the blades, the mower would shut off. From my younger days as a landscaper for Achtenhagen Services in Big Bend, I was able to diagnose the problem over the phone: the safety switch wasn’t engaging.

So, I went out to her apartment to try it out. It worked fine for me. Turns out that her butt isn’t big enough to trip the switch. Not too shabby. ;)

Simple PlanI haven’t heard Addicted by Simple Plan for a while…until I heard it on the radio this morning.

Turn this one up in your car on the way home, scream it out the windows…it’s very cathartic.
