Here’s a secret… I subscribe to MoveOn.org’s newsletter so I can see what kind of garbage they are spewing. I received this today.
Dear MoveOn member,
Obama’s now ahead in most polls. That’s great, but there’s just one problem: the polls could be wrong. This is an unprecedented election. No one knows how racism may affect what voters tell pollsters (emphasis mine)—or what they’ll do in the privacy of the voting booth (emphasis mine). And there are plenty of other unknowns.
We can’t afford to take any chances with the most important election of our lifetimes. Whatever the polls say, we all need to get out, talk to voters, and make sure every single Obama supporter makes it to the polls.
The Obama campaign in West Bend needs more volunteers this week for a big voter-outreach effort. Click here to sign up:
Polls can’t always be trusted, for many reasons. Remember what happened in the New Hampshire primary? Obama was ahead in all the polls—but Hillary Clinton carried the state on election night.
So we can’t afford to get complacent. We don’t know whether polls will translate into votes on Election Day, but we know that our actions can.
Countless studies have shown that the most effective way to ensure that someone makes it out to vote is to reach out and talk to him or her in person. And the Obama campaign has asked us to help out in doing that—can you join in?
Citing tough economic times, the West Bend School District is holding a “special board meeting” on Wednesday night at 5:30. They will reportedly postpone the West Bend School Referendum until at least February and perhaps longer.
If you haven’t seen this video, you should. Then, the next time that you hear anybody saying that “Bush’s failed policies” led to the downfall of the economy, remember what you see here:
The coolest part about Barack Obama’s new two-minute television commercial is that I can get up, run to the bathroom, change laundry loads, and get a beer before he gets through explaining how he’s going to spend all of our money! And, it’s draining his campaign account. I love it!
I made a small donation to the McCain/Palin campaign today. It was very small, actually, but hopefully it will buy a radio spot somewhere. Obama is advertising on my station right now, and I would like to hear the alternative perspective on the air, as well.
By the way, the Obama ad that is airing is a downright lie. A ’sportsman’ says that “Obama supports gun ownership.” Uhm. No.
Oprah has decided not to interview Sarah Palin because she doesn’t want her show to be used, “as a platform for any of the candidates.” Of course, she interviewed Barack Obama. From TMZ:
The item in today’s Drudge Report is categorically untrue. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.
This just convinces me even further that the Left is completely afraid of McCain’s choice for VP. I love it.
In a politics, campaign managers and PR reps will tell you it’s all about relating to people. Selling their candidate to you as a brand…as a general rule, people vote for the candidate who they connect with the best. The person they would want to sit around a listen to music and drink beer on a Friday night.
In the attempts to further that message…Blender Magazine (a shell-brand for Maxim, who’s focus is all things music and getting young female artists to pose semi-nude on the cover) reports on Obama and McCain’s Top 10 favorite songs. The songs are listed below and I put in SeeqPod players below each list, so you can enjoy the music!
Here is the list they (their publicists) gave to Blender.
I’ve honestly been so out of touch with this election season that I haven’t really had any strong feelings one way or the other. I mean, I can’t stand Obama, but McCain is so all over the place that I don’t really trust him either.
So, for those of you who don’t really care about the election this year, here are some tips from The Onion on pretending like you actually give a shit about McCain or Obama. As always, the text that is on the screen during the video is just as funny as the characters.
Socialism: If you have two cows, you give one to your neighbor.Communism: If you have two cows, you give them to the government and then the government gives you some milk.
Fascism: If you have two cows, you keep the cows and give the milk to the government; then the government sells you some milk.
New Dealism: If you have two cows, you shoot one and milk the other; then you pour the milk down the drain.Dictatorship: If you have two cows, the government shoots you and keeps the cows.
Capitalism: If you have two cows, you sell one and buy a bull.
