Lost Season 4 Finale

Friday, May 30th, 2008 by Claude

*SPOILER*
Sorry if you TiVo-ed it…but it happened last night so it’s fair game to blog about today…

I didn’t think the Frozen Donkey Wheel was as exciting as last years Rattlesnake in the Mailbox
but the Season 4 finale was pretty good…and leaves some good unanswered questions for the final 2 seasons of the show.

Here is a quick video which shows the 3 different endings shot for the finale.

LifeLock Spokesman = Dumbass

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008 by Claude

Have you seen this ad on tv?  Where the spokesman for a company promising to save you from identity theft shows his Social Security Number on screen?

Funny thing is, the LifeLock’s service didn’t help the spokesman, who became a victim himself.  Whoops!  Guess you shouldn’t have given out your SS# on national TV.  Nothing like daring someone to steal your identity.  Sorta like daring Kevin Mitnick to hack into something.

Jungle Fever

Monday, May 5th, 2008 by Fuzz

My daughter and I were watching the Zoey 101 movie on Saturday night on Nickelodeon. Towards the end of the show, there was a band full of white kids playing some rock music.

The name of that band: Jungle Fever.

Now, I don’t want to be that guy pointing at the elephant in the room, but isn’t a term like “Jungle Fever” a little racy for a television show geared towards tweens?

I’m just saying…

Lost returns tonight, with the first of the final 5 episodes of Season 4…and I am WICKED EXCITED as Lost is the only show that is a must-see for me.

The episode tonight is titled The Shape of Things to Comeand according to the Official Lost Podcast (with Lost Producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse) there is to be a reveal as to the “control” of the smoke monster…so watch for that!

Mr. Eko, Smoke Monster, Lost

Earth is Awesome

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008 by Claude

I am in favor of Earth Day, cleaning up the planet, etc…but I also feel a lot of media and people’s ramblings about “going green” is a fad for them and disingenuous…
So, here is my 2008 take on how we should celebrate Earth Day, from The Colbert Report on Comedy Central.

Message Force Multipliers (WE ARE BEING LIED TO, AMERICA)

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008 by Claude

From the New York Post… The US Government secretly bankrolled TV Panelists, billed as Military Analysts, to put a positive spin on the war in Iraq.  Calling these highly respected and decorated Military leaders “Message Force Multipliers“.  Or rather, “an influential but unacknowledged mouthpiece or propagandist for one’s interests”. windell.jpgYou know Wendell, the delivery guy from the Miller ads? Well, I was watching an episode of Entourage this afternoon and would you believe which plump, jolly delivery man was dropping off a desk? None other than Windell Middlebrooks - the Miller High Life delivery guy.

Speaking of - this is probably the funniest of all of the Miller High Life delivery guy spots:
“Would you like to date a woman who smells like nuts? Uhm, cashews in particular.” Hilarious!

Your Champion… in the Blu Shorts

Monday, February 18th, 2008 by Fuzz

I bet Jed is glad that he bought a combo Blu Ray/HD-DVD player. All signs are pointing to Toshiba pulling the plug on its HD-DVD format.

Multiple users have written to tell us that Toshiba is planning to halt production of devices related to HD-DVD. According to Japanese broadcasting network NHK, Toshiba will lose “hundreds of millions of dollars” as the format war finally draws to a close. Regardless, investors are pleased that Toshiba has made the decision to cut its losses. This comes after a last-ditch price cut was unable to prevent Wal-mart from throwing their lot in with Blu-ray, although some sources suggest that Wal-mart was already aware of Toshiba’s plans to withdraw from fight.
