Elegant Farmer

One thing (of many) that I miss about living in the Mukwonago area is the Elegant Farmer. The Elegant Farmer is a combination of a farmer’s market, deli, and a bakery. As a kid we used to go pick strawberries there in the summer and pumpkins in the fall.

Their apple pie in a brown paper bag is by far the best apple pie that you will ever buy in a store - EVER. It turns out that the Food Network feels the same way, as they recently sent Bobbie Flay there to do a show on it (link has photos)! *tear*.

(post processing)

I’ve been taking a lot of shots in Allenton, lately. Unfortunately, Allenton has been through a world of hurt recently with the flooding and last Saturday’s fire at the Allenton Inn.

So… uhm… here’s a cross-processed train.

Blogging From The Basement

Thursday, June 12th, 2008 by Fuzz

For the second time in less than a week, I am in the basement of my house. As a kid, I always thought that Dodge County was Wisconsin’s version of Tornado Alley. In my three years here in Mayville, though, Saturday and today are the only two times that I have heard the tornado sirens going off. Racine and Kenosha seem to get the brunt of the storms, nowadays, but nobody has been safe in the last week or so.

Thank goodness for wireless internet. :)

Somebody doesn’t like the idea of wind turbines… that’s for sure.

Shake Baby, Shake

At 4:37 this morning, there was a 5.4-magnitude earthquake in southern Illinois. People have said they felt it all the way up to Menomonee Falls. I was in the car at the time and didn’t feel a thing. The epicenter was about 41 miles northwest of Evansville, IN.

Cool (provided nobody got hurt).

Ugly Green

Green energy is surely going to lower the value of my home. Recently I started seeing wind turbines sprouting up around the horizon by my home. Now there are dozens of them scattered about the area. I’m not worried about the geese near the Horicon Marsh getting decapitated, I am worried about the price of my home going down.

Damn you, Al Gore!

Thou Shall Not

I know that the Bible says that I should not covet my neighbor’s wife… but Lisa just snowblowed my driveway. Haha! Thanks, Lisa. Oh, and Phil, you can keep her… I hear she snores. j/k.

If it weren’t for Phil and Lisa, I’d have gone insane in this craptastic town.
